Cherry Sorbet Recipe
Ingredients:
2 c. of syrup
4 1/4 c. of water
2 cans (16 oz.) of bing cherries (in heavy syrup); pitted
1/4 c. of lemon juice (fresh)
4 c. of sugar
Instructions:
To make around 4 cups of syrup, mix sugar and 4 cups of water in saucepan. Simmer ’til sugar dissolves. Allow to cool (preferably room temperature), store in covered container and refrigerate.
Drain all cherries, setting aside its syrup (2 tablespoons). After draining, put them through the food mill. Next, mix the lemon juice with water (1/4 cup) and syrup.
Transfer mixture to machine bowl, and then freeze. This makes approximately 4.5 cups.
